Jeff came to Electric Power Systems with over 23 years of experience in developing and testing advanced batteries for electrified applications. His extensive background in chemical engineering and energy storage allows him to successfully lead the company’s battery team in its battery development, characterization, and performance evaluations. His team specifically focuses on battery cell technology and system performance for automotive, space, and aerospace applications. His team carries outperformance, life modeling, and validation activities while also providing technical oversight on cell suppliers.
Prior to joining Electric Power Systems, Jeff spent 14 years as a principal engineer at the Idaho National Laboratory supporting battery testing for the United States Advanced Battery Consortium (USABC), where he developed battery test procedures and life modeling methodologies. He then transitioned to a battery engineering role at Ford Motor Company, where he supported cell and battery system validation for electrified vehicles. Most recently, Jeff served as a technical advisor at Cummins, where he supported system validation for electrified buses.
Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Brigham Young University and a master’s degree and Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Idaho. Jeff lives in Logan, Utah and he enjoys the outdoors, dirt-biking, and camping.
