Kurt joined Electric Power Systems as its Senior Technical Lead over Electrical Engineering in 2019. With over 30 years of experience in electrical engineering, Kurt has a robust background in all aspects of the engineering development process (e.g. component-level design, program management, systems engineering, etc.). He also has extensive experience in engine control and body control modules for ground combat vehicles (hardware and software), military-grade cable design, and vehicle integration.

Prior to Electric Power Systems, Kurt served in Senior Engineering and Program Management roles at Cummins, L3 Technologies, General Dynamics Land Systems, and Magnet Motor.

Kurt spent almost three years as Cummins’ Senior Design and Verification Engineer, where he led a $16 million DARPA/US Marine Corp program, developing a hybrid-electric reconnaissance, surveillance and targeting vehicle. Kurt also led the RST-V program, which focused on hybrid-electric vehicle applications for the United States Military. While at Magnet Motor in Germany, Kurt became a leader in the development of high-torque, density-permanent magnet motors and power electronics modules.

Kurt resides in Logan, Utah, with his wife Jette and their three dogs. In his free time, he enjoys reading, cycling, and playing with his dogs. ​
